There aren't many MATLAB memes out there, but here are some to get you started. Also, some mini-projects to get you started! They follow the general outline of:

1. Load the data

2. Get to know the data

3. Figure out what you want from the data

4. Get that information

5. Do something with that information

6. Iterate

7. Make sure your code is flexible enough to work with other similar datasets

In the beginner projects, click on colored text (usually colored text that says 'click me') to reveal hints or answers to questions. My suggestion is to go as far as you can without looking at the hints and use them only if you get stuck, but you do you. Ideas for more complicated projects are listed under 'Advanced Project' – if you're already familiar with MATLAB, these might be a fun way to get started working with different types of data, but do whatever you feel like will be most useful to you.
